Pay per click advertising

Online advertising such as Pay Per Click or commonly called PPC is the most immediate and easiest way to drive targeted traffic to your website. Many people have the wrong impression that this method of advertising is so advanced and only limited to big company. The truth is anybody can do it once you learned the basics.

Here are the 3 tips to get you started:

1. Keywords Research: PPC is all about keywords. Most people have the impression that they should always bid on the most popular and high volume keywords like "dog" or "dog training". This is NOT really the case, as high volume keywords does not necessarily bring you more sales. They only cost you more money. Try to choose market specific keywords and go as wide as possible. Think of the product name, competitor names and as well as some specific models of products.

2. Writing the Ads. The purpose is attract people to click-thru your ads and arrive at your website. Always use the keywords in the headline or title. Be different from your competitors. The relevancy of your ads is the single most important factor in determining the success of your campaigns.

3. Advertise on other search engines. PPC is not only about AdWords or Google. There's plenty of search engines out there who has the PPC platform. Two of them are Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter. I suggest you try your campaign at their platform and see what are the results. I bet there would be different.
